Trial terms

Version of 2026-11-05

The trial

OYLA Classroom and OYLA Library are early versions. The trial is free for 30 days and may change while we learn what teachers and libraries need.

Your data

Your name, work email, role, state, and the name of your school or library. While you use the trial we record what you do in it: pages and tabs you open, buttons you press, how long a page is open and active, how far you scroll, what you search for, and your answers to our questions. Also the kind of device (for example Chromebook or iPad) and a rough screen size. We use this only to learn what teachers and librarians need. Passwords are stored only as a secure hash. No student data, no ads, no third party trackers, no screen recording, and we do not keep your IP address. Kept on our servers in the EU until 31 March 2027, or deleted sooner if you ask us. If your free trial ends and your school or library does not continue, we delete your account, and a teacher's classes, 90 days later. We keep only the name of your school or library, its state and the trial dates. Encrypted backup copies are kept for 30 days with Amazon Web Services in the US. In OYLA Library, readers use the library's one login: we never ask readers for names or email addresses, and what they read is recorded as the library's use, not by person. A teacher can share one article with a link that opens it without a password. A link works for 30 days unless the teacher extends it or turns it off. We count how many times a link is opened each day, and nothing about who opened it.

Email

We send you a few emails about your trial: reminders of our questions, a note before the trial ends and one when it ends. Each has a link to stop them, or reply and ask. Emails about your account (confirming your address, resetting your password) still come.

Deleting your account

Write to adv@oyla.us.

Magazine content

Articles, guides and sheets belong to OYLA. Teachers may use them in their own teaching, and a library may give its readers access to them through OYLA Library. Please do not share them outside your school or library.
